Canterbury Festival – Mampama

The UK-based nine-piece band inspired by some of the classic music that came out of Africa in the 60s and 70s comes to Canterbury!

Mampama play an uplifting blend of Highlife, Afro-Jazz and Palm Wine guitar styles. Building on the criss-cross rhythms and distinctive horn lines of these styles, the band perform their interpretations of classic pop by Osibisa, S E Rogie, Miriam Makeba and Bobby Benson. Their infectious grooves are guaranteed to get everyone on their feet and shimmying!
