Don Letts’ reputation has been firmly established in both the film and music world for over five decades. He came to notoriety in the late 70’s as the DJ that single handedly turned a whole generation of punks onto reggae and dub, and in 1977 whilst DJing at The Roxy, made his first film The Punk Rock Movie with the Sex Pistols, The Clash and many others.
He has now directed over 300 films, creating music videos for artists from Public Image to Bob Marley and documentary work for the likes of The Jam, Sun Ra and Sir Paul McCartney. Don continues to DJ nationally and internationally, released his debut album Outta Sync in 2023 and hosts a weekly show on BBC Radio 6 Music, blending classic sounds with new talent. We are thrilled to welcome this legend to Canterbury for a night that will channel the spirit of his Roxy sets, just be sure to wear your dancing shoes.
