Start International Women’s Day with a shot of inspiration from the Founder of Grow Up Farms Kate Hofman at our breakfast networking event.

Growth and sustainability are a must for every business to succeed. Come together to discuss our opportunities and challenges for 2023, and hear how Kate has grown her business from the ground up, literally. Ten years ago, cycling across London at 5am to deliver salads, Kate started something amazing – what was to become the UK’s leading vertical farming company. Kate has built Grow Up Farms, from root to supermarket shelves, creating a successful sustainable business, which now has an important new site in Kent at Discovery Park in Sandwich. Hear Kate share her story and the lessons she’s learnt along the way.

Canterbury’s 6th International Women’s Day event is presented by Westgate Hall in collaboration with Canterbury BID. Previous speakers have included Ruth Simpson and Paula Spencer.

This event is open to everyone.

About Kate Hofman

Kate is the Founder and Brand Director at GrowUp Farms, where she’s been growing salads since 2013, producing restaurant-quality food that stays fresher for longer. For almost a decade, GrowUp has worked to make delicious sustainable food affordable.

It’s been a long journey from GrowUp’s first farm, a shipping container greenhouse selling salads and herbs in Borough Market, London, to raising over £100m in December 2021 to build the 4th farm, which will supply ready-to-eat salads to UK supermarkets, launching in Spring 2023.

Kate is a Fellow of Barclays Unreasonable Impact, an international network of businesses focused on scaling up entrepreneurial solutions while solving some of our most pressing societal challenges. She sits on the WWF Farming Advisory Board and volunteers at The Felix Project, a local charity delivering surplus food to charities and schools.
